Portfolio

This is a selection of all my past work from previous projects starting with the most recent I've given a background description to each project to separate them and help for them to be understood.

A couple of sample sheets from my full design book created at NABA. I'm working on getting all my pages scanned in and putting together an interactive PDF as all the sheets have fabric samples of my textiles work to illustrate the textiles but below is a preview.

A small selection of my textile design work, unfortunately I can't get picture to do these samples any justice.

Below is a project done during the intensive week at NABA in just over a week. The aim was to design six T-shirts that had to incorporate jersey in some way but may also include other fabrics and produce two of them with corresponding presentation sheets. For my T-shirts I chose to use a medium weight jersey alongside neoprene and then also laser cut reflective acrylic to stitch on to the shoulders.

This project was based entirely on the concept of recycling and was done in partnership with a local charity called Coventry Cyrenians through Coventry University where I attend. The charity provided the university with donated good unfit for charity shop resale, donations and also seized counterfeit goods from trading standing and it was then our job to completely de-brand the clothes and create a capsule collection to be sold within the charities store. The collection was also to be fully branded by our own brands and have visual merchandising material. The collection I produced was sports themed and created mostly from old cotton shirts. The accessories are produced from materials stated below their image.

Cylinder bag created from old jeans.

This was a project based on the concept of fast fashion retailers in which we were required to select a fast fashion store in partnership with a trend for the spring/summer 2013 season and then develop for them a range of products which we had a small choice of ultimately leading to producing a capsule collection of our choice. As my favourite store and place of work I chose to use Topshop as my retailer and focused on the comic book girl trend that featured a lot of cartoons illustrations and awesome patterns and as you can see below worked my way though hi-tops designs, patterns, T-Shirt prints and then ultimately ended up with a very loud collection!

Flats for the capsule collection, just to show a clear outline of the shapes.

This shoot was SOOOO much fun! It was a group project that was eventually exhibited on our Coventry University store at the Clothes Show Live 2012 in the Birmingham NEC. The brief was to carry out a photo shoot with the influences of razzle dazzle, Mexican day of the dead and wonderland in order to exhibit the silk scarves created earlier in the year. As you can see we had a good play with this and created some wild costumes!
